Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a construction laborer to assist on-site with preparing and cleaning up construction areas. You will work under supervision to remove debris, load materials, and set up temporary structures.

The role involves following plans, using tools, and performing physical tasks in varying conditions. Availability for 40+ hours, possible weekend work, and background checks may apply.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor.
• Must be able to utilize basic math and read a tape measure.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively.
• Work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments.
• 40 or more hours per week with possible weekend work.
• Background check and drug screen based on job location/requirements.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards.
• Load or unload building materials to be used.
• Build or take apart bracing, scaffolding, and temporary structures.
• Dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth to prepare for construction.
• Operate or tend equipment and machines used.
• Help craft workers with their duties.
• Follow construction plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers.
• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as brooms and shovels, pavement breakers, jackhammers, earth tampers, and surveying equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
