Job summary

Boswell Engineering is seeking Construction Site Coordinators with electric utilities experience to oversee contractors at electric utilities sites in New Jersey, with a focus on substations.

Responsibilities include field oversight, tracking labor and equipment, reviewing invoices and change orders, and producing detailed daily reports. Candidates should have a strong background in electrical substations and transmission/distribution construction oversight.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with 10+ years at electric utilities sites including substations or transmission/distribution construction oversight.
• Experience working for an electric utility or as electrician/lineman/construction oversight is required.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and scope documents.
• Proficiency with computers and software such as MS Office, Adobe, and email.

Responsibilities

• Oversee contractors on electric transmission and distribution facilities at major electric utilities sites, with emphasis on Substations.
• Coordinate construction of and modifications to below- and above-ground facilities including substations and overhead lines in private and public rights-of-way.
• Experience in electric utility environments or as an electrician/lineman/construction oversight is required.
• Construction inspection experience is highly preferred.
• Field oversight at Utility Client sites in New Jersey; manage labor, equipment, invoices, change orders, and daily reports.
• Perform administrative tasks including switching orders, inventory, and coordinating work.
• Potentially long days (10–12 hours), 5–6 days per week, with long-distance travel and background checks.

Boswell Engineering, one of the largest New Jersey based multi-disciplined engineering firms, is seeking additional Construction Site Coordinators with Electric Utilities experience in New Jersey (Central to Southern). Direct Applicants Only - No Agency referrals will be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee contractors working on electric transmission and distribution facilities at major electric utilities sites, with an emphasis on Substations.
• Work includes construction of and modifications to below and above grade facilities including work in electrical substations and overhead facilities in private and public Right-Of-Way
• Experience working for an electric utility or as an electrician, lineman or construction oversight is required.
• Experience performing construction inspection is highly preferred.
• These positions entail working in the field providing oversight on contractor’s operations which can be at Utility Clients sites in New Jersey
• Administrative work is highly electronic in nature and necessary which includes tracking contractors labor and equipment, reviewing invoices and change orders, generating detailed daily reports, tracking and doing inventory on materials, preparing and reviewing switching orders and anything else to coordinate and facilitate the work
• Work routinely may involve working up to 10 to 12-hour days for 5 to 6 days a week.
• Driving long distances to and from work may be involved and clear Driving Record and background check are required.
• Use of FR clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and said clothing and equipment is provided by us.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 10+ years working at electric utilities sites which includes either/ all of the following: Prior experience in electrical substations or electrical transmission and distribution construction oversight for major Electric Utilities is required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Flexibility with work hours, must be able to work long hours, nights and weekends when necessary
• Ability to interact and communicate with others in a professional and effective manner
• Ability to write technically on subject matter and perform all basic engineering math calculations
• Ability to read and understand all pertinent documents including plans, specifications, and scope documents
• Proficiency in computers/ computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, Email, etc.
• Ability to execute and pass all training
• Position requires a compliant background check, training and current US Work eligibility (required by Client)
