Job summary

Boswell is seeking an experienced Utilities Project Manager to lead major capital electric utility projects. The role involves overseeing substations and transmission work, with most work done remotely but requiring office/site visits to our MD/Northern VA region and NJ headquarters. Must have a BS in Engineering, at least two years in utilities PM, and PMP preferred. US citizenship or PR for site access is required.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering preferred.
• Formal project management training preferred.
• PMP Certification highly preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years of Utilities project management experience on medium to high voltage substation/transmission projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects ranging from breaker replacement at a substation to building a full substation and/or relocating or upgrading transmission lines.
• Oversee substation work such as cap bank heaters, bus work, transformer replacement, control house rehab or new substation.
• Coordinate transmission line routing studies and ensure training and safety requirements are met.

Most of the work is done remotely but both office and site visits are required to S. Due to increased Client requests, Boswell is seeking additional Project Managers or Senior Project Manager(s) with experience in the electric utility industry. Our Utilities Project Management Team is an exciting and fast-growing Team with numerous growth and training opportunities.Responsibilities:Project managers are assigned projects that range from replacing a breaker at a substation to building an entire new substation and/or relocating or upgrading transmission lines (preferred experience up to and exceeding 500kV).Typical substation projects may be breaker replacement, cap bank heaters, bus work, transformer replacement, control house rehab or replacement, extending a substation yard, or a new substationTypical transmission projects may include replacing insulators, replacing the OPGW, adding circuits, or a new transmission lineProject managers may also be assigned transmission line routing studiesClient will provide all of the necessary training for both the project management system that is utilized and all of the mandated client safety training and FERC trainingAdhere to internal standards, policies and proceduresQualifications:BS Degree in Engineering is preferredFormal project management training is preferredwith PMP Certification highly preferredAn absolute minimum of two (2) years of Utilities project management or coordination experience in managing medium to high to extra high voltage substation and/or transmission line projects is required but Project Engineers who work closely with experienced Project ManagersClient requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status for site access.NO 3rd Party agency submittals or inquiries please!We recognize that the best way to provide services of the highest quality is by investing in our employees.
