K-Five Construction Corporation is seeking a Parts Supervisor in Illinois. The role involves overseeing parts procurement, conducting safety talks, and managing shop inventory.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, 3-5 years of experience, and proficiency in MS Office. This position requires effective communication and the ability to work rotating shifts.

Supervisory responsibilities include managing a team of 7 to 10 employees ranging from Operators to Mechanics.

Duties and responsibilities

• Place part orders, review received orders and update inventory through online systems
• Conduct daily safety talks
• Communicate with other shop managers, process of repairs, any issues
• Walk the shop and yard areas making sure areas and equipment are secure
• Routinely audits computerized inventory records to ensure accuracy and sufficient quantities, makes recommendations on excess or obsolete inventory
• Expedites delivery of parts to mechanics
• Submits daily “Shop Notes” at end of shift, to all shop personnel on all activities

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3 to 5 years related experience in parts procurement with some supervisory responsibility in the maintenance of trailers, trucks, and heavy equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with managers, suppliers, manufacturers, mechanics, and field personnel
• Proficient in MS Office products and JIT, Inventory, costing, EOQ and taking physical inventories
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, shop manuals, parts, manuals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
• Ability to work 2 nd shift with rotating Saturdays in season
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Working conditions

Work around moving objects or vehicles, fumes, solvents, grease and oil. May work under conditions of inclement weather.
