Job summary

Pennsy Supply Inc in the United States seeks a skilled screed operator to control asphalt paving machines and ensure proper depth, grade and yield on highways and parking lots.

You will work with a paving crew, adhere to MSHA/OSHA/DOT safety rules, and adjust screed height/angle to achieve even distribution. A high school diploma and DOT compliance are required; drug screen and background check are mandated.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Experience in construction/paving preferred.
• Must pass drug screen, background check and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

The screed operator is a highly skilled position involving the control and operation of theasphalt paving machine.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc.
• Conduct daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA's, TRACK, etc.).
• Maintain depth, grade and yield of asphalt.
• Operate free floating screed to level hot mix to the right thickness of evenness.
• Ability to see differences in grade.
• Manipulates hand or foot levers to control movements of machine spreads and levels asphalt onsubgrade of highway and related surfaces such as parking lots, streets, etc
• Collaborating with the paving crew for even asphalt distribution
• Adjusting the screed height and angle to ensure proper distribution
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must submit to a drug screen, criminal background check and DOT physical.
• Current driver’s license and reliablesource of transportation.
• Able to work various times during day, night or weekend hours, at various locations.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma orGED equivalent.
• Previous experience in the construction and paving industrypreferred.
