Job summary

HNTB is seeking a full‑time Scheduler in Miami to develop and maintain project schedules for MDAD, analyze risks, and produce cost/schedule reporting. The role involves coordinating with project management, reviewing contractor submittals, and building robust what‑if scenarios to mitigate delays.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field with several years of scheduling experience, preferably using Primavera P6, and a readiness to work locally in South Florida.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Business with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • In lieu of education, 10 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new project schedules for moderately complex projects using scheduling software and maintain schedules with progress updates.
  • Communicate schedule status and risk areas to the project management team.
  • Perform schedule risk analysis, including quantitative risk analysis.
  • Conduct schedule analysis to identify critical activities, milestones and changes; develop what‑if scenarios.
  • Perform claims‑related analysis using contractor claims and delay costs.
  • Prepare reporting from schedules including EVA and cost/schedule integration.
  • Perform contemporaneous schedule analysis.
  • Review contractor schedule submittals, baselines and progress updates.
  • Research project documentation related to claim data and inspection diaries.
  • Analyze contract and construction documents to translate scope into the schedule.
  • Assist planning work including Work-Breakdown Structure, durations, and sequencing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

This is a full-time scheduler position supporting the Miami Dade Aviation Department (MDAD). The role involves limited supervision, performing complex scheduling assignments, building and maintaining schedules for projects, and monitoring and reporting status while analyzing changes for key risk areas and milestone impact.

What You'll Do
  • Independently develop new project schedules for moderately complex projects using scheduling software, maintain project schedule including progress updates, revise forecasts, and evaluate impact of delay.
  • Communicate schedule status and key risk areas to project management team.
  • Perform schedule risk analysis, including quantitative risk analysis.
  • Conduct schedule analysis to identify critical activities, risk areas, key milestones, and significant changes. Develop “what if” scenarios to explore alternate sequencing to mitigate or avoid schedule delays.
  • Perform claims‑related analysis using contractor claims, delay cost estimates, time impacts, etc.
  • Prepare reporting from schedules including EVA analysis and integration of cost and schedule.
  • Perform contemporaneous schedule analysis.
  • Perform detailed review of contractor schedule submittals, including baseline and progress updates.
  • Research project documentation relating to claim data, including project correspondence and inspection diaries.
  • Analyze contract documents and construction documents (plans and specifications) to translate scope of work, milestones, contract time, and construction phasing into the schedule.
  • Assist project team in planning the work, including developing Work‑Breakdown Structure (WBS), estimating durations, and sequencing the work (hard restraints and soft restraints).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Business and 6 years of relevant experience, or
  • In lieu of education, 10 years of relevant experience.
What We Prefer
  • Strong experience preparing and reviewing project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Local to South Florida.
