Job summary

YA Group is seeking a Construction Scheduler to coordinate and manage schedules across multiple projects. The role requires independent judgement, site inspections, data analysis, and clear communication of findings to clients and team members.

The ideal candidate has 2–8 years in construction scheduling, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and familiarity with CPM techniques, MS Project, Primavera P6, and ASTA Powerproject.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or equivalent field.
• PSP certification is preferred.
• Strong CPM-based scheduling and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the construction planning & scheduling process, including schedules and updates.
• Conduct forensic analysis of project schedules and costs.

• Perform schedule delay analysis to identify causes and resolve delay claims.

Job description

As a YA Construction Scheduler, you will be working independently to coordinate and manage construction schedules for various projects. Construction Scheduler are responsible for performing inspections of project sites to evaluate project progress, conducting analysis of project documents and data, effectively relaying findings, and updating schedules. Construction Scheduler are expected to use a large measure of independent judgement, considering and weighing alternatives when appropriate, taking into account the financial and operational significance of the services being performed.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Participate in all phases of the construction planning & scheduling process, including the development of schedules and ongoing schedule updates.


• Conduct forensic analysis of project schedules, contemporaneous documentation, and construction costs.


• Perform inspections of construction project sites, evaluating project progress.


• Review and organize large amounts of construction project documents and data.


• Perform schedule delay analysis to establish the cause and extent of delays and to resolve construction delay claims.


• Evaluate construction productivity and progress data, extended general conditions, and expediting expenses.


• Assess the impact of project changes and schedule delays, effectively communicating findings.
  
• Operates on behalf of clients to monitor and manage timelines, expenses, and other factors critical to operational efficiency and cost management during all phases of construction.


• Review and synthesize relevant information to prepare technical project reports.


• Maintain job files, documentation, and other relevant deliverables.


• Interface with other department employees, contractors, and clients on a regular basis


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required, in construction management, engineering or equivalent field, preferred


• 2-8 years in a construction scheduling experience.


• Holds a PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) certification, preferred.


• Experience using critical path method (CPM) techniques to analyze construction project schedules.


• Experience with Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera 6, and ASTA Powerproject.


• Previous experience or exposure to builder's risk insurance policies, construction claims management, and managing contractors.


• Experience working on data centers / semiconductors, preferred.


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team towards a common purpose.


• Strong communications skills, with the ability to interface with various stakeholders and clients.
