Job summary

Siemens is seeking a seasoned Construction Sales Engineer to grow LV/MV switchgear sales in the Norfolk, VA market. The role blends remote and on-site work as part of a national, hybrid model.

You will develop distributors and electrical contractor opportunities, manage a robust CRM-driven forecast, and support a broad range of panels, switchgear, and high/low voltage gear. 5% travel required; USA work authorization essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of sales experience with LV/MV power distribution products or 8+ years in LV/MV sales.
• Ability to travel 5% of the time.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support distributors and electrical contractor opportunities in the Norfolk, VA market.
• Build market presence and channel support to grow share.
• Fully utilize CRM to develop and forecast contractor opportunities.
• Provide product support for panelboards, switchboards, MV gear, lighting panels, and related equipment.
• Build and maintain a sales pipeline and a plan for strategic accounts.
• Establish relationships with senior management at key accounts and channel partners.

Construction Sales Engineer - Low/Medium Voltage Switchgear

This position will be remote/hybrid in the Norfolk, VA market.

Role Description

• Job responsibilities will include but not limited to the development and support of Distributors, Electrical Contractor opportunities with additional focus on achieving projects through area Construction Channel.
• You will provide market presence and channel support in the fore mentioned market servicing to achieve share growth.
• Fully utilize CRM to develop and forecast contractor opportunities.
• Product support to include but not limited to; Panelboards, Switchboards, Medium Voltage gear, Lighting Panels, Low Voltage Switchgear, Busway, Motor Control Centers, Molded Case Circuit Breakers, IEC/NEMA Control, Safety Switches, and Residential Products.
• Building and maintaining a business plan by cultivating a healthy sales pipeline by uncovering new opportunities, following up on leads and managing existing customer base.
• Develops and implements plans for strategic accounts that exceed expectations in revenue retention/growth, account profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty.
• Building long term relationships with senior management at key customer accounts, solution partners and channel.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of sales experience with LV/MV power distribution product line OR 8+ years of sales experience with LV/MV power distribution product line
• Ability to travel 5% of the time.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering preferred
• 5+ years experience in selling to local electrical contractors is a requirement.
