Job summary

Summit Service Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Construction Safety Spotter / Signal Person to support electricians on active construction sites in the Wilmington, DE area. This hands-on role focuses on safety, clear communication, and hazard awareness while assisting lift operations.

You will work full-time on projects with a company that prioritizes safety, teamwork, and reliability, with training provided as applicable to the assignment.

Qualifications

• Strong situational awareness to recognize hazards and communicate them clearly.
• Ability to follow site safety procedures, signals, and instructions.
• Willingness to learn standardized hand signals for aerial lift operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the work area around electricians operating aerial lifts, identifying hazards.
• Maintain clear communication with lift operators using hand signals, verbal instructions, or radios.
• Act as designated spotter during lift movement to manage blind spots and changing conditions.
• Be aware of overhead power lines, uneven ground, and other site risks; report hazards promptly.
• Establish safe work zones around aerial lift operations and keep unauthorized personnel away.
• Follow site safety procedures and fall protection requirements.
• Stop work or pause when unsafe conditions arise or communication is lost.
• Coordinate with electricians, lift operators, and site supervision to support safe workflow.
• Report hazards and near misses to the supervisor.
