Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 10+ years of construction safety experience, including field inspection and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards (29 CFR 1926).
  • Experience with large construction, infrastructure, utility, or transportation projects.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, investigations, and inspections.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety management systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect construction activities for OSHA compliance and adherence to project safety plans.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with Hazard Analyses and Safe Work Plans.
  • Identify unsafe conditions; ensure corrective actions; stop work when necessary.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs and documented safety audits.
  • Monitor excavation, fall protection, crane/rigging, confined space, and electrical work.
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Verify contractor training, certifications, and pre-task plans.
  • Monitor nighttime operations, including roadway closures and traffic control.
  • Prepare daily safety reports and track compliance metrics.
  • Promote safety culture through mentoring, coaching, and stand-downs.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
