Job summary

Thompson Turner Construction is seeking a Safety Manager for projects across the South Carolina area. Travel to job sites is required to ensure safety programs meet OSHA, state and federal requirements.

You will plan, implement and coordinate programs to reduce injuries, educate employees, and drive Thompson Turner to be the regional safety leader. Requirements include a minimum of 5 years field experience, OSHA 30, MS Office skills; BSCP preferred and valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of field experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Office, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must be able to drive to jobsites statewide and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Must have completed OSHA 30.
• BSCP certification preferred.
• Able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor/co-workers.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied environments.
• Drug test and background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Observe subcontractor performance and identify site hazards to ensure OSHA and company compliance.
• Identify conditions that could cause accidents and communicate with management.
• Conduct post-accident investigations and recommend preventive actions.
• Assist in development of SOPs and safety procedures for the division.
• Maintain safety statistics and audit data; perform regular site audits.
• Conduct safety training and new employee orientation.
• Visit worksites weekly to conduct audits and address hazards.
• Inspect vehicles/equipment for road worthiness.
