Job summary

Ferrovial Construction in The Woodlands, TX is seeking a Safety Manager to support the Director of Safety by promoting safety policies and procedures through the Safety Plan for Construction.

You will administer safety programs, conduct orientations and driver training, lead inspections, investigate injuries, and ensure every worker understands tasks and uses required protective equipment on large highway and bridge projects.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of progressive responsibility in similar positions.
• OSHA 500 Standards for Construction and OSHA 40 certifications and other safety certifications.
• Experience on large highway, bridge/structures, paving, and/or utility relocation projects as a contractor.

Responsibilities

• Provide program administration to ensure a safe, healthy, and secure work environment for employees and the public, including persons with disabilities, and that the public is protected from harm in connection with operation of the Project.
• Perform safety orientations for employees and subcontractors.
• Perform safe driver training.
• Provide a safe and secure work environment with zero tolerance for violence, threats, harassment, and intimidation in the workplace.
• Conduct periodic safety inspections of all worksites to identify and correct unsafe conditions and unsafe acts, and document the results.
• Investigate and document all occupational injuries.
• Under the direction of the Safety Manager, ensure that each employee understands the assigned task, is provided with the necessary equipment, and follows all safety and health policies, procedures, and work practices.
