OBR Cooling Towers is seeking a Safety Specialist to oversee and enforce safety measures on active construction projects. You will ensure OSHA compliance, lead on-site safety meetings, and collaborate with leadership to improve risk management. Travel may be required to various job sites.

The role involves enforcing safety policies, conducting audits, and supporting incident investigations. Qualifying candidates have a high school diploma, an associate’s degree in safety, and OSHA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree in occupational health and safety, Management, and/or 1 year of health and safety experience.
• Industry-recognized certifications such as OSHA 500, CSHO, CHST, STS-C, etc.

Responsibilities

• Stay current on state and federal occupational safety regulations (OSHA 29 CFR 1020 and 1926) and apply expertise on job sites.
• Identify and mitigate workplace health and safety hazards.
• Support project teams with safe work processes (JSAs, THAs, Safe Work Procedures).
• Enforce OBR safety policies and procedures at job sites.
• Respond to emergency situations and maintain safety documentation and records.
• Monitor and investigate near-miss incidents and participate in incident investigations.
• Lead and organize on-site safety meetings and ensure compliance.
• Provide safety expertise to employees, subcontractors, and clients throughout projects.
