Job summary

SDV Construction is seeking an experienced Safety Specialist in Albuquerque, NM to lead safety on commercial construction sites. You will work with project managers, superintendents, and field crews to identify risks, strengthen safe practices, and ensure teams have the knowledge and resources to work safely every day.

The role emphasizes ownership of safety culture, proactive training, and collaboration across sites. Certifications such as OSHA 500, CHST, CSP are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction safety, preferably in commercial/general contracting.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and NM/local safety rules.
• Excellent communication and field engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify risks on multiple job sites and implement safe work practices.
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for crews and subcontractors.
• Conduct proactive inspections and investigations of incidents and near misses.
