Job summary

The Lane Construction Corporation in the Greater Orlando area is seeking a Safety Supervisor to develop and manage the accident prevention program for a major highway project. The role emphasizes compliance with safety laws and leading a team of safety professionals on-site.

The Safety Supervisor will conduct area assessments, develop training, and coordinate safety meetings to ensure effective communication and adherence to federal and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of Construction Safety Orders, MUTCD standards, OSHA, MSHA, and other federal/state guidelines.
• Ability to make independent judgments on worker safety.
• Professional image and handling confidential information.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, including nights/weekends.
• Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer compliance with the safety program and lead accident prevention efforts to meet safety goals.
• Conduct work area assessments to identify hazards.
• Develop and facilitate safety training programs for personnel.
• Supervise and develop safety professionals under their area of responsibility.
• Develop and implement safety programs that meet company standards.
• Perform jobsite inspections and audits focused on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors.
• Coordinate safety meetings and training to ensure effective communication among employees.
• Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations for compliance.
• Review job hazard analyses for major project phases to ensure safety completion.
• Maintain documentation with the corporate insurance department for losses and workers' compensation claims.
