Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the Division Safety Program and ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety requirements on construction job sites.

You will inspect sites, document findings, coordinate training, and assist with investigations and regulatory reporting. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in construction safety, a safety degree, and relevant certifications, with a passion for protecting workers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a safety professional in a construction environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health or Environmental Applied Sciences is required or related strong construction safety experience.
• CHST/ASP or other BCSP certifications would be ideal and preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• OSHA 30hr training is required.
• You love safety and are proactive and collaborative.
• Ability to train and mentor less experienced safety staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct job-site safety inspections to verify compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
• Document inspections and recommend corrective actions with timely follow-up.
• Maintain safety documentation including accident reports, inspection reports and training logs.
• Provide emergency response and assist with investigations and regulatory reporting.
• Develop training materials and coordinate employee safety training.
• Train and mentor less experienced safety personnel.
