Job summary

ArchKey Solutions is seeking a Construction Safety Intern to gain hands-on experience on electrical construction projects. This role is based at or near a regional ArchKey office or project within a specific market, with an emphasis on promoting safe work practices.

You will learn how safety programs are integrated into daily construction activities, observe field operations, and support documentation, orientations, and audits while collaborating with Safety and project teams.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a degree program in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Safety, project, and field teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn in an active construction/jobsite environment.
• Prior construction or safety experience is a plus.
• Ability to complete a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist with promoting safe work practices and working conditions on active project sites.
• Participate in jobsite safety observations, inspections, and compliance audits.
• Support site-specific safety orientations and training activities.
• Learn how project teams identify hazards and develop strategies to prevent injuries.
• Assist with safety documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping.
• Work with project and field teams to understand safety in planning and day-to-day activities.
• Gain exposure to company safety programs and regulatory requirements.

This position will be based at or near a Regional ArchKey office or project within a specific market.

About the Position

Our summer Safety Internship provides hands-on experience with safety programs and practices within the electrical construction industry. Working alongside Safety and project teams, youll learn how safety is incorporated into the day-to-day operations of active construction projects.

As a Safety Intern, youll spend time in the field supporting safety initiatives, observing construction activities, and learning how our teams work together to create and maintain safe work environments.

National or Regional Assignment

Regional assignments may be based at or near an ArchKey office or project within a specific market.

Day in the Life

As a Safety Intern, youll work alongside Safety professionals, project leaders, and field teams to learn how safety programs are implemented on active construction projects. You may:

• Assist with promoting safe work practices and working conditions on active project sites.
• Participate in jobsite safety observations, inspections, and compliance audits.
• Support site-specific safety orientations and training activities.
• Learn how project teams identify hazards and develop strategies to help prevent workplace injuries and incidents.
• Assist with safety documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping.
• Work alongside project and field teams to understand how safety is incorporated into planning and day-to-day construction activities.
• Gain exposure to applicable company safety programs and regulatory requirements.
• Provide field safety support for projects and activities as directed by the Safety team.
• Assist with additional safety and project activities based on business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in construction safety or the electrical construction industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Safety, project, and field teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn in an active construction/jobsite environment.
• Prior construction or safety experience is a plus.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screen.

Travel

Travel and/or temporary relocation may be required depending on whether the internship is assigned to a National project site or Regional market.
