Job summary

The Safety Engineer at W.E. O’Neil in Delta, Utah is responsible for supporting projects and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines across on-site activities.

You will implement safety programs, conduct inspections, investigate incidents, and help develop site-specific safety plans while coordinating with the Safety Department and project teams in a dynamic construction environment. Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management, or related field.
• Understand and effectively use company software programs, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Well-developed time management and organization skills.
• Ability to work non-routine hours as needed.
• Ability to analyze options and problem solve creatively, while aligning with W.E. O’Neil’s business applications and philosophy.
• Ability to analyze statistical information and create charts.

Responsibilities

• Implement Injury Illness Prevention Program on assigned projects.
• Set up and audit project safety systems.
• Participate in project kickoff meetings.
• Perform jobsite walks / inspections.
• Conduct incident investigations.
• Address, follow-up, and ensure closure on issues.
• Review subcontractor programs and Job Hazard Analyses.
• Attend safety trainings and coordinate with teams.
• Foster a safety culture on site.
• Lead Safety Department initiatives.
