Atkinson Construction is seeking a Safety Coordinator in Washington, DC to safeguard personnel, subcontractors, and the public on our heavy civil project sites. You will help develop safe work plans, enforce safety programs, and conduct on-site training for project teams, with a focus on reducing incidents.

The role requires an undergraduate degree in safety and health or related discipline and OSHA 10/30 training; candidates with construction safety experience will be favored.

Qualificações

• Undergraduate degree in safety and health or related discipline preferred.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training preferred.
• Entry-level or some relevant construction safety experience.
• Strong commitment to safety standards and incident reporting.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee safety of employees, subcontractors and the public on site.
• Enforce safety programs per federal, state and local standards.
• Develop and coordinate project safety programs and training.
• Identify hazards and advise on mitigations to ensure compliance.
• Investigate incidents and report safety performance and plans.
• Coordinate safety for complex tasks like lifts and hazardous material handling.
• Conduct site walks and communicate with field supervision on safety aspects.
