Job summary

Tilcon Connecticut Inc., a CRH company, is seeking a Safety Manager in New Britain, CT. You will lead environmental, health, and safety programs protecting employees, contractors, customers, and communities.

As a member of the leadership team, you will drive OSHA, MSHA, and DOT compliance, oversee training and investigations, and foster a proactive, people-first safety culture across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 10 years of relevant practical experience
• OSHA 1910, OSHA 1926 and MSHA knowledge preferred
• Experience leading EHS professionals and training programs

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental, health and safety team for multiple facilities under MSHA, OSHA and DOT regulations
• Develop and oversee EHS policies and procedures in line with regulations and policy
• Monitor EH&S programs and regulatory compliance and interface with government agencies
• Conduct or direct employee safety, health and environmental training and safety meetings
• Lead training programs for compliance, inspections, safe work processes, and policy adherence
• Serve as point of contact for regulatory interactions and emergency personnel
• Drive incident investigations and corrective actions using a Human Operational Performance approach
• Identify improvement opportunities and provide support to operational roles
• Oversee facility inspections and hazard identification with corrective actions
• Lead job hazard evaluations and support audit closures
• Represent sites during regulatory inspections and audits and close findings
• Promote safety initiatives and digital solutions for compliance
• Collaborate with community stakeholders on health-related concerns
• Support workers' compensation and liability claim management
• Ensure OSHA 300 logs and MSHA standards documentation is maintained
• Support recruitment and development of safety talent
• Engage CRH Safety initiatives and maintain company safety culture
• Perform other duties as assigned
