Job summary

Veit is seeking a Safety Manager to reduce hazards across all projects, facilities, and work sites. You will plan, implement, and supervise safety, accident/injury, and fire protection programs, and train employees on health and safety protocols.

The role requires detail orientation, excellent communication, and strong regulatory knowledge. You will manage safety compliance, lead site safety audits, and continuously improve safety performance while maintaining records and supporting field

Qualifications

OSHA 30 Certification is required.
Experience in construction, waste, or transportation safety.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and incident investigation.
Ability to communicate effectively and train employees on safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Lead safety programs across projects, facilities, and sites to protect workers.
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and property damage; determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
Conduct in-house safety trainings and site orientations.
Develop and write site-specific safety programs and Health and Safety Plans.
Perform routine safety audits and provide coaching and guidance.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, MDH, MPCA, DOT and other regulations.
Maintain safety records, reports, and air monitoring instruments as required.
Provide back-up support for the Safety Coordinator and assist management with policy development.
