Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. is seeking a Safety Co-op to support project teams in creating and maintaining a safe work environment across multiple locations in our operating geography.

You will work with safety professionals and operations leaders to learn construction safety practices, regulatory compliance, hazard recognition, training, and incident prevention. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related fields and is eager to learn.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
• Open to all student levels (freshman to senior) with strong interest in workplace safety.
• Previous construction/safety experience is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Safety Specialists and project teams with implementing company safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in project safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning discussions.
• Assist with documenting safety inspections, observations, audits, and corrective actions.
• Support the development and maintenance of project safety plans and training records.
• Help prepare and distribute safety communications and project updates.
• Collaborate with project teams to promote a positive safety culture.
• Maintain records and assist with data collection related to safety performance.
