Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an Entry-level Environmental Health & Safety professional for the Sacramento project site. The role supports enforcement of EH&S policies, hazmat risk controls, and worker training to promote safe practices on construction sites.

You will help review subcontractor safety programs, coordinate drug screening, and maintain EH&S records while participating in preconstruction activities and site inspections. Associates degree required, travel limited.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety/Health, Engineering or related field with at least 1 year of construction safety experience or equivalent.
• Fundamental knowledge of safety and environmental principles and related regulations.
• Familiarity with Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations and construction operations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and organizational ability.
• Ability to identify safety exposures and suggest corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Support enforcement and adherence to EH&S policies on construction projects.
• Assist with training on safe work practices and safety programs.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with regulations and contracts.
• Assist with drug screening coordination and preconstruction meetings.
• Maintain safety records, incident investigations and metrics, and toolbox meeting minutes.
• Conduct site safety audits, inspections, and report violations with corrective actions.
