Job summary

Palm Build LLC is seeking a skilled Construction Technician to join our Charlotte, NC team. This hands-on role spans drywall, painting, flooring, tile, and demolition across residential projects, delivering quality craftsmanship on schedule.

You will read scopes, prepare sites, and work with project managers to ensure clean, safe job sites and customer satisfaction. Prior restoration exposure is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of hands-on construction experience.
• Proficiency in at least two of the following: drywall installation, painting, demolition, flooring installation, tile installation.
• Ability to read measurements, follow written scopes/instructions, and perform basic material calculations.
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the Charlotte service area.
• Professional appearance and conduct when working in customers’ homes.
• Restoration experience or IICRC training is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform interior demolition, tear-outs, damaged-material removal, and job-site preparation.
• Install, repair, patch, and finish drywall, including taping, mudding, sanding, and texture matching.
• Complete interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation, priming, and application by brush, roller, or sprayer as appropriate.
• Install residential flooring systems, including LVP, laminate, vinyl, and related materials.
• Perform tile installation for floors, walls, backsplashes, showers, and other residential applications, including layout, cutting, grouting, caulking, and finishing.
• Complete general reconstruction, repairs, and related trade work as required.
• Read and follow scopes of work, measurements, plans, and project instructions.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites while protecting customer property, furnishings, and finished surfaces.
• Identify site conditions, material requirements, or scope concerns and communicate them to the Project Manager.
• Document work through job-site photos and progress updates when required.
• Complete assigned work according to Palm Build standards, project specifications, and scheduled timelines.
• Follow OSHA, company, and job-site safety requirements.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and field teams.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Professional appearance and conduct when working in customers’ homes.
• Restoration experience, IICRC training, or related certifications are a plus but not required.
