Job summary

M/I Homes, a national homebuilder with 50 years in the industry, seeks a Construction Superintendent-in-Training to support on-site construction activities under managers. You will develop essential skills in coordinating subdivision construction, inspections, and scheduling while ensuring workmanship aligns with company standards.

You will learn the construction process, work with subcontractors, and help maintain customer satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in Construction Management preferred.
• Alternatively three years of related work experience in home building.
• Knowledge of building codes, regulations and construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Quality Control Inspection (QCI) process with staff and ensure 100% complete homes at delivery.
• Coordinate with Operations, Construction, Customer Care and external agencies to complete duties and prevent issues.
• Assure materials and workmanship meet high value and quality standards to reduce future issues.
• Act as liaison between construction and sales to coordinate quality assurance initiatives.
• Perform quality inspections at various construction stages to ensure standards are met.
• Train in M/I Homes Construction Process and related phases, including warranty.
• Assist in inspecting homes in different phases to monitor workflow and quality.
• Review blueprints for accuracy and assist in scheduling subcontractors.
