Job summary

M/I Homes is seeking a Construction Supervisor to manage on-site activities across an assigned subdivision. You will oversee each construction phase, coordinate subcontractors, inspect work for quality, and ensure customer satisfaction in line with company goals.

Requirements include a high school diploma and at least four years of supervisory experience in home building, with strong leadership, communication and blueprint-reading skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with at least one year of construction management coursework.
• Minimum four years of related supervisory experience in home building.
• Knowledge of home building codes, regulations, and construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Assists in budgeting time requirements to complete each phase and meet deadlines by scheduling subcontractor work and deliveries; coordinating and monitoring progress of work; completion and closing dates.
• Acts as liaison between operations, subcontractors, and vendors; supervises and monitors work of subcontractors; follow up to ensure completion and timely deliveries.
• Reviews daily production via inspections during construction phases to ensure quality control; monitors progress and materials usage.
• Reviews and analyzes site plans and blueprints to monitor compliance with specifications.
• Conducts pre-construction and pre-settlement meetings with home buyers; resolves customer service issues during construction.
• Assists in control of production costs through time sheets, invoices, and inspection sheets; tracks costs to avoid overruns.
• Trains subordinates and subcontractors; enforces safety and company policy compliance.
• Directly supervises subordinates and assists in supervision of subcontractors; performs duties per company policies.
• Assist with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as required.
