Job summary

M/I Homes, Inc. is seeking a Construction Superintendent trainee to learn and develop skills under Construction Managers. You will coordinate on-site activities across subdivisions, monitor phases, inspect quality, and work closely with subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality homes.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to construction processes, and effective communication with homeowners and internal teams to maintain customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Construction Management preferred or at least three years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Quality Control Inspection (QCI) process with Construction and Customer Care staff to ensure 100% complete homes at delivery.
• Act as a liaison between Operations, Construction, Customer Care and external agencies to ensure completion of duties and prevent service issues.
• Assure construction materials and workmanship meet high quality standards, reducing future service issues.
• Coordinate quality assurance initiatives between construction and sales teams.
• Perform inspections at various stages to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Assist in inspecting homes in different phases and coordinate scheduling of subcontractors and material delivery.
• Review blueprints for accuracy and assist in scheduling and monitoring subcontractor work.
• Monitor progress of subcontractors and report issues arising from inspections.
• Communicate with homeowners to address questions and resolve service concerns.
