Job summary

Onward Search is supporting a defense-focused technology client in the San Diego area to recruit a Construction Quality Engineer for a 10–26 week temporary assignment. The role will support projects across the United States and requires strong QA/QC expertise and technical leadership.

Responsibilities include developing quality plans, overseeing QA activities, site evaluations, and reporting on material testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Demonstrated QA/QC experience in construction projects.
• Solid knowledge of construction materials, safety regulations, and codes.
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to read drawings and CAD models and use measurement tools for analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality management plans for construction projects.
• Oversee QA processes across planning, inspections, and testing.
• Conduct site evaluations and risk assessments, ensuring safety compliance.
• Perform weekly inspections and testing of materials (concrete, soil).
• Manage non-conformance and corrective actions with suppliers and internal teams.
