Job summary

HHICorporation is seeking a Construction Quality Control Manager (QCM) based in Ogden, UT. The role will require work on diverse projects up to $50 million, ensuring quality and compliance with OSHA, federal and state regulations, and company policies.

The QCM has authority on all CQC matters, may stop work for safety, and will support project safety programs. Travel to Seattle, WA for extended periods is required, with a homebase in Ogden and relocation as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 10+ years in construction with 2+ years as Primary QC Manager on federal projects.
• Experience on federal projects (USACE, NAVFAC, VA, or similar).
• Experience on projects valued at $8 million or greater.
• OSHA30-Hour Construction Safety Training.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and enforce plans, specifications, and submittals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine site walks and inspections to identify, document, and correct deficient or non-conforming work.
• Enforce approved project safety plans and ensure OSHA/EM385-1-1 compliance.
• Coordinate and/or facilitate required project training for quality and safety compliance.
• Lead mishap investigations and complete all reporting to HHII and government agencies.
• Prepare, maintain, and submit all QA/QC documentation, reports, and logs.
• Research, interpret, and implement applicable regulations and specifications.
• Develop, implement, and manage the Project Quality Control Plan (QCP).
• Lead and document Three-Phase Control Meetings.

JobPurpose

TheQualityControlManagerisresponsibleforensuringallconstructionactivitiescomplywithcontractdocuments,approvedsubmittals,applicablefederalandstateregulations,OSHArequirements,andcompanypolicies.ThispositionhastheauthoritytoactinallContractorQualityControl(CQC)matters,includingstoppingworkwhennecessary,andprovidesactivesupporttoprojectsafetyprograms.

MainDutiesandResponsibilities

• Trackdeficiencies,issuecorrectiveactionrequests,andverifycompletionofcorrectivework.
• Participateinpreparatorymeetings,pre-installationmeetings,andGovernmentcoordinationmeetings.
• Assistwithprojectcloseoutactivities,includingpunchlists,as-builtdocumentation,warranties,andO&Mmanuals.

KeyWorkingRelationships

MustbeabletoworkprofessionallyandeffectivelywithGovernmentrepresentatives,inspectors,andnon-governmentpersonnel.TheQualityControlManagermustcoordinatewithmultipletradesanddisciplinestoensurequalitycompliancewithoutimpedingconstructionprogress.Clear,conciseverbalandwrittencommunicationwithOwners,ProjectManagers,Superintendents,andCorporateSafetyisrequired.

MinimumQualifications

• Bachelor'sdegreeinEngineeringorConstructionManagement
• Minimumten(10)yearsofconstructionexperience,withatleasttwo(2)yearsservingasthePrimaryQualityControlManageronfederalconstructionprojects.
