Job summary

CLP Engineering is seeking a Construction QC Manager for a USACE contract at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. You will ensure quality control, develop QC plans, and coordinate with project teams to meet regulatory requirements.

You will review documents, track submittals, and supervise QC activities across the project lifecycle. A minimum 5 years in QC management and 10 years with USACE or federal projects are expected, with CQM training preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
  • OSHA 30 Certified.
  • EM 385-1-1 Training.
  • Five (5) years’ experience as a QC Construction Manager.
  • Ten (10) years’ previous experience with USACE or federal government construction projects.
  • Experience and qualifications must meet USACE requirements.
  • USACE CQM training and certification.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and verbal / written communication skills are required.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in pre-construction meetings, schedule meetings, design reviews, and kickoff meetings to define QC requirements.
  • Submittal creation and tracking.
  • Develop and implement procedures for tracking control phase meetings in a three-phase QC system.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure adherence through the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with PMs, engineers, superintendents, safety officers, subcontractors, and suppliers on quality issues.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance for timeliness, efficiency, and quality.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits for QC compliance.
  • Provide training and guidance on QC procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Document and report QC activities and corrective actions to stakeholders.
  • Participate in monthly project reviews to discuss QC metrics and opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate close-out documents with project management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Construction QC Manager-USACE
Location: Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA

CLP Engineering (CLPE) is hiring a new team to support our USACE contract working on Joint Base Lewis McChord. We're seeking a Construction QC Manager who will ensure the quality and compliance of the USACE construction projects; will develop and implement QC plans and procedures in compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

CLPE is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years’ experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings, schedule meetings, design reviews, and project kickoff meetings to provide input on quality control requirements and expectations.
  • Submittal creation and tracking.
  • Develop, schedule, and implement procedures for tracking control phase meetings required for the three-phase control system.
  • Review project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, superintendents, safety officers, subcontractors, and suppliers to address quality issues and non-conformances promptly and effectively.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance with respect to timeliness, efficiency, and quality.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites to monitor compliance with quality control standards, specifications, and codes.
  • Assist with providing training and guidance to project teams on quality control procedures, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Document and report quality control activities, findings, and corrective actions to project stakeholders and management.
  • Participate in monthly project review meetings to discuss schedule, quality control metrics, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate with project management to ensure all close-out documents are complete and submitted.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Salary range: $90,000-$130,000/annual based on experience plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
