Job summary

Barnard Construction Company, Inc. seeks a qualified professional to lead quality assurance programs on major dam, infrastructure and earthwork projects.

You will develop, maintain, and verify quality systems, coordinate field engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning within scope, and ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements. The role involves client liaison, directing audits, and reporting quality progress to project management and quality control

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Willingness to travel and relocate domestically and internationally.
• Minimum of five (5) years on large dam, infrastructure, and earthwork projects.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Good attention to detail with ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and verifies implementation of the Quality programs for the Project, with oversight of direct hire and Sub-Contractor work.
• Manages and coordinates Quality activities across field engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Maintains client liaison and communication for Project’s quality activities, as directed by the Project Manager and Quality Control Manager.
• Reviews, audits and surveys Quality activities and reports progress to management.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Equivalent experience in a construction-related position will also be considered.
• Must be willing to travel and relocate. Project sites are located domestically and internationally, so relocation and/or travel are required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience of related experience on large dam, infrastructure, and earthwork construction projects.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.

• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and
• United States Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management for Contractors certificate preferred (USACE CQM-C)

• Manages and coordinates Quality activities associated with field engineering field procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning within the Project scope.
• Maintains client liaison and communication for Project’s quality activities, as directed by the Project Manager and Quality Control Manager.
• Reviews, audits and surveys Quality activities across the Project direct hire execution and Sub-Contractors and advises and reports to management quality problems and progress within the Project.
