Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Quality Manager I to own the project quality program on a single project under a senior quality manager. You will keep the ITP current, schedule and witness tests, and maintain daily QC reports, NCRs, and audit-ready files.

The role is the entry-level management seat for field inspectors, with growth toward Quality Manager II as you lead larger programs and teams. Travel and long days align with the construction schedule.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in construction materials testing, special inspection, or contractor QC.
• At least one certification: ACI Grade I, NICET Level II, ICC special inspector, or USACE CQM-C.
• Able to read specifications and drawings and turn them into a test schedule.
• Direct, organized and able to tell a superintendent that a lift does not pass.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the project inspection and test plan (ITP) and the testing frequency log against the specifications.
• Schedule and witness field and laboratory tests; verify certifications of the technicians performing them.
• Write the daily quality control report and the three-phase (preparatory, initial, follow-up) meeting records.
• Open, track, and close nonconformance reports with the superintendent and the engineer of record.
• Keep submittal, mix design, and material certification files audit-ready.
• The week starts with look-ahead planning for pours, lifts, and structural work, then witnessing tests and updating records.
• Own NCR paperwork and communicate with the engineer of record and superintendent for corrective actions until retest passes.
