Job summary

M/I Homes is seeking an entry-level Construction Inspector/Assistant to support on-site construction management across subdivisions. Reporting to Construction Managers, you will participate in coordinating activities, inspections and quality assurance to help deliver 100% complete homes at handover.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's or Associate degree in Construction Management or at least three years in related work, strong carpentry and blueprint-reading skills, and the ability to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Construction Management preferred or at least three years of related work experience.
• Good knowledge of home building industry, building codes, regulations and construction processes.
• Must have hands-on construction skills including carpentry; ability to read blueprints and use hand and power tools.
• Strong customer-service orientation with clear verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field quality inspections and ensure 100% complete homes at delivery.
• Coordinate with Operations, Construction, Customer Care and external agencies to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Ensure high value workmanship and reduce future service issues.
• Assist in scheduling subcontractors and monitoring progress and quality during all construction phases.
• Communicate with homeowners to address questions and resolve issues.
