Job summary

The US Army Corps of Engineers seeks a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) who will also serve as Project Engineer in their absence. The role focuses on post-award activities for construction contracts, including regular site visits, submittal reviews, RFIs, VECPs, and other contract documentation.

The incumbent will support all phases of contract administration related to modifications, change orders, contractor claims, and related work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with ABET accreditation or equivalent, or combination of education and experience as described in basic requirements.
• Combination of Education and Experience: college-level education and/or technical experience that demonstrates engineering knowledge and application.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and assumes duties of Project Engineer in absence.
• Engages in post-award activities for construction contracts including site visits, submittals review, RFIs, VECPs, and other contract documentation.
• Provides support across all phases of contract administration related to modifications, change orders, contractor claims, and related construction activities.
• Reviews and certifies complex project plans and specifications through the BCOES process, evaluates constructability and design feasibility.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary stakeholders during pre-bid and design phases to ensure compliance and cost-efficiency.
• Conducts Design and Construction Evaluation (DCE) field audits and site visits to ensure adherence to quality management program standards.
