Downtown Boulder Partnership is seeking a dynamic Purchasing Agent/Buyer in High Point, NC for a permanent, full-time role. The position involves developing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and processing POs and RFQs to meet project needs.

Responsibilities include supplier selection, contract negotiations, market monitoring, and collaboration with project teams to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of materials and equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Purchasing Agent/Buyer in the construction industry.
• Experience managing purchase orders and RFQs.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build supplier relationships.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet company objectives.
• Manage purchasing process from supplier identification to terms negotiation.
• Prepare and process purchase orders per policy.
• Handle RFQs, analyze quotes and select suppliers based on price, quality and delivery.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships to secure best terms.
• Monitor market trends and product availability for informed decisions.
• Collaborate with project managers to procure materials and equipment timely and cost-effectively.
• Resolve vendor grievances and claims against suppliers.
• Review and approve specifications for bids.
• Review delivery schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
• Conduct supplier analysis to maintain quality, delivery and cost efficiency.
