Job summary

HDR is seeking a Construction Project Manager to join our Power Construction Professionals team in the Southwest. The role focuses on managing complex power delivery projects, coordinating staff and external resources, and driving business development.

You will lead contract negotiations, budgets, and QA/QC processes while collaborating with design teams and stakeholders across multiple sites. Travel to project locations is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 10 years related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years project management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, and project management software.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Job description

Construction Project Manager – Power

HDR is looking for a Construction Project Manager to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Construction Professionals in the Southwest.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as key client contact, building and maintaining client relations with internal and external stakeholders and developing new Power Construction Services clients.
  • Work with marketing for proposal development and opportunity tracking.
  • Oversee contract and MSA negotiations, conduct resource recruitment, and provide invoice approval and budget development for multiple projects concurrently.
  • Act as project manager on larger multi‑service projects, making decisions on staffing levels, field resources, and coordination of external resources to properly execute project goals.
  • Lead and support business development related to Construction Services, developing and maintaining annual goals.
  • Develop and lead the QA/QC process on a project‑specific basis and maintain project document control.
  • Assist or lead projects as a client lead and/or project manager.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specific experience providing construction services support for Power Delivery, Hydro, Generation, and Renewables projects.
  • Relevant industry certifications (PMP, PE, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, and project management software.
  • Ability to interact with various design teams and strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.

Primary location: Arizona – Phoenix. Other locations: Arizona – Tucson; New Mexico – Albuquerque; Nevada – Las Vegas.
