Job summary

MIRACORP is hiring a Project Manager IV in Washington, DC to lead complex government facility design and construction projects from planning through occupancy. You will manage scope, budget, and schedule while coordinating with A/E firms, contractors, and customer agencies.

Responsibilities include on-site oversight, risk resolution, and ensuring compliance with codes, life safety, and quality standards. Travel to project sites is required to perform inspections and evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field; and/or ten years of experience managing design and construction projects.
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.

  • Prepare Project Management Plans, establish project milestones, track progress, and ensure compliance with codes, life safety, sustainability, and QA expectations.
  • Serve as on-site project manager or inspector, perform daily field oversight, resolve complex construction issues, ensure work meets contract requirements and budget constraints.
  • Review and approve design documents, construction submittals, progress evaluations, and invoices; coordinate with A/E firms, contractors, and customer agencies.
  • Provide technical expertise on building systems, workmanship quality, environmental regulations, and construction best practices.
  • Facilitate project meetings, maintain stakeholder communication, and support a collaborative team with acquisition, financial, and program staff.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure projects are delivered on scope, on schedule, and on budget.
  • Travel to project sites for inspections, progress reviews, and technical evaluations as required.

Position Summary

The Project Manager IV leads complex, high-value design and construction projects for government facilities, overseeing all phases from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and occupancy. The role manages customer expectations, project scope, budget, and schedule while providing technical expertise on building systems, codes, life safety, and quality assurance. The incumbent serves as the on-site project manager, resolves field issues, and ensures successful project delivery through strong coordination with internal teams, A/E firms, contractors, and customer agencies.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field; and/or ten years of experience managing design and construction projects.
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of building design, construction methods, and commercial building systems, with the ability to solve complex technical and project challenges.
  • Proficiency in project management principles, construction scheduling, cost estimating, reading and interpreting construction documents, and writing scopes of work and specifications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with customers, acquisition staff, contractors, financial managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced computer skills and familiarity with project management and estimating software.
