Responsibilities
- Review project proposals, plans, and specifications to determine timelines, funding limitations, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation.
- Create and manage work plans, schedules, and staffing for each project phase, including recruitment or assignment of personnel.
- Read and understand drawings and specifications.
- Establish a network of business associates, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Coordinate with project staff to outline work plans and assign duties, responsibilities, and authority scopes.
- Ensure project progress stays within budget and provide technical advice to resolve issues.
- Negotiate with owners and subcontractors to maintain efficient project execution.
- Work with billing and finance teams to ensure smooth financial processes.
- Prepare project reports for management and clients, review status reports, and modify schedules or plans as required.
- Coordinate activities with governmental agencies and other regulatory bodies.
- Lead and supervise project assistants, providing feedback and performance appraisals.
- Assist in proposal writing and mentoring internal talent.
- Assist in strategic planning, business development, and client relations.
- Support the Safety Department in enforcing safety and health policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience, including K‑12 education construction projects.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Strong time‑management and productivity skills.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Exhibit confidence, receive and provide feedback, inspire and motivate self and team.
- Identify and resolve problems promptly and continuously seek improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ViewPoint software.
Other Requirements
- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory motor‑vehicle record, and adherence to KA Motor Vehicle Policy.
- Travel 25‑75% depending on the job.
Physical Demands
- Clearly communicate information both written and verbally.
- Stand or sit in a stationary position for extended periods (50%+).
- Use a computer/laptop or iPad in an open office environment with natural or fluorescent lighting.
- Navigate between office floors and attend off‑site meetings as needed.
- Lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
Compensation
$87,000 to $140,000 annually, plus an auto allowance and discretionary incentive program. The range represents the anticipated hiring range; offers at the upper end are uncommon. Pay is based on many factors including education, skill, experience, training, certifications, and business needs.
