Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Watertown, NY to oversee commercial, state, and federal construction projects from $100K to $7M. The role offers hybrid work with 3 days in office and 2 days on site, and room for long-term growth within a small, independent team.

Key duties include managing budgets and schedules, coordinating subs and vendors, handling RFIs and change orders, and leading negotiations. Travel across NY and Northeast is occasional.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction management experience.
• Degree or equivalent hands-on construction experience.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors and vendors.
• Experience with commercial, state, and federal projects.
• Project duration typically 6 months to 2 years.
• 3 days in office / 2 days on site, depending on project stage.

Responsibilities

• Manage 1–3 projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop schedules, budgets, forecasts, and 3-week lookaheads.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal teams.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documentation.
• Lead subcontractor buyout, scope review, and negotiations.
• Conduct site visits and project meetings.
• Monitor project progress, quality, costs, and compliance.
• Identify risks and resolve issues to keep projects on schedule and budget.
• Oversee project closeout, punch lists, and turnover.
