Job summary

Diamond Peak Recruiting is seeking a Traveling Mechanical Project Manager with extensive experience in the MEP trades, specifically HVAC and mechanical systems, to oversee large-scale commercial ground-up projects across the United States. Responsibilities

• Manage the full mechanical scope on large commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Oversee subcontractor performance, mechanical installation quality, and schedule adherence.
• Coordinate mechanical/HVAC activities with the GC, other trades, and design teams.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and mechanical plans for accuracy and constructability.
• Lead onsite mechanical coordination meetings and ensure integration with plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
• Monitor and report on budget, labor, productivity, and cost control measures.
• Ensure all work meets project specifications, safety standards, and client expectations.

We are actively seeking a Traveling Mechanical Project Manager with extensive experience in the MEP trades, specifically within HVAC and mechanical systems, to oversee large-scale commercial ground-up projects across the country. This is a field-forward leadership position with full responsibility for mechanical scope execution on fast-paced, technically complex jobs.

The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable in mechanical systems and coordination, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is fully committed to full-time travel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full mechanical scope on large commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Oversee subcontractor performance, mechanical installation quality, and schedule adherence
• Coordinate mechanical/HVAC activities with the GC, other trades, and design teams
• Review submittals, RFIs, and mechanical plans for accuracy and constructability
• Lead onsite mechanical coordination meetings and ensure seamless integration with plumbing, electrical, and structural systems
• Monitor and report on budget, labor, productivity, and cost control measures
• Ensure all work meets project specifications, safety standards, and client expectations

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of project management experience within the mechanical/HVAC trades (open to multiple levels of experience)
• Proven experience leading mechanical scopes on large-scale, ground-up commercial construction projects
• Deep understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork, chilled water, hot water, and controls
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of industry standards and codes
• Proficiency in construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Willingness and availability to travel 100% of the time
• Competitive base salary up to $145,000 (dependent on experience)
