Job summary

Pivotal Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Commercial Construction Project Manager to lead ground-up and light commercial builds in Houston. You’ll own each project from preconstruction handoff through closeout, manage budgets and schedules, and supervise superintendents and subcontractors as the client’s main contact.

The role offers a base of $90,000–$120,000 plus a performance bonus, with Monday–Friday work and a growing Houston operation.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of commercial construction project management
• Ground-up or light commercial experience with a GC or developer
• A track record of running more than one project at a time
• Strong cost control and subcontractor management
• Confidence with Procore or similar project management software and Microsoft Office
• Based in the Greater Houston area

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial projects from preconstruction handoff through to closeout
• Owning project budgets, schedules, buyout and change orders
• Leading superintendents and subcontractors on schedule, quality and safety
• Setting up sites, including the SWPPP, the construction trailer and early works
• Coordinating with architects, engineers, owners and internal teams
• Managing RFIs, submittals and inspections, and keeping work to code
• Sourcing and vetting new subcontractors with the purchasing team
• Giving stakeholders regular progress reports and fixing problems before they slow the job

A growing design and build firm is expanding into Houston and needs a Commercial Construction Project Manager to lead projects there. The work covers ground-up and light commercial builds, including retail, office, amenity and mixed use, so it suits a PM who has come up through a general contractor or a developer’s in-house team.

You’ll own each project from preconstruction handoff through to closeout. That means running the superintendents and subcontractors, keeping the budget and schedule honest, and being the client’s main point of contact. It’s a smaller team than the big GCs, so you get real ownership and your calls on site actually stick.
