Job summary

Stillpoint AEC is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead commercial projects in the Dallas–Fort Worth market from preconstruction to closeout. You will own project execution, financial performance, and relationships with owners, design teams, and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has current general contracting experience and a proven track record managing multi-phase commercial projects, with strong knowledge of budgeting, schedules, and project controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field preferred.
• Current project management experience with a commercial general contractor or construction management firm.
• Experience managing commercial construction projects through multiple phases of the project lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, subcontractor management, procurement, and project controls.
• Experience managing project budgets, cost forecasts, change orders, pay applications, and overall project financial performance.
• Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change management.
• Experience coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field leadership.
• Experience with construction management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software preferred.
• Ground-up and/or complex commercial construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout and warranty.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, cost forecasts, and execution plans.
• Oversee project financial performance including cost reporting, forecasting, billing, and profitability.
• Coordinate with Superintendents and field teams to maintain schedules, quality, safety, and progress.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, scopes of work, buyout, contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and performance.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and schedules for scope and constructability issues.
• Lead owner, architect, engineer, subcontractor, and internal project meetings.
• Maintain communication with owners, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with estimating and preconstruction on planning, budgeting, value engineering, and turnover.
• Monitor procurement and long-lead materials to support sequencing and schedule.
• Identify and resolve schedule, cost, quality, and contractual issues.
• Oversee project documentation, pay apps, change orders, cost reports, and closeout files.
• Support and mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers.

About the Opportunity

Stillpoint AEC is partnering with a highly respected and growing general contractor with an established presence in the Raleigh market and a strong reputation for quality construction, reliable project delivery, and long-standing client relationships.

The firm is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction and project turnover through completion and closeout. This position offers meaningful ownership of project execution, financial performance, client relationships, and coordination between field and office teams.

The ideal candidate brings current general contracting experience managing commercial construction projects and is comfortable owning the complete project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction and project turnover through construction, closeout, and warranty
• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, cost forecasts, and overall project execution plans
• Manage project financial performance including cost reporting, forecasting, commitments, change orders, billing, and profitability
• Coordinate closely with Superintendents and field teams to maintain project schedules, quality standards, safety expectations, and construction progress
• Manage subcontractor procurement, scopes of work, buyout, contracts, submittals, RFIs, change management, and subcontractor performance
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, and other construction documents to identify scope, coordination, and constructability issues
• Lead owner, architect, engineer, subcontractor, and internal project meetings
• Maintain strong communication and relationships with owners, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders
• Coordinate with estimating and preconstruction teams during project planning, budgeting, value engineering, and turnover
• Monitor procurement and long-lead materials to support project schedules and construction sequencing
• Identify and proactively resolve schedule, cost, quality, contractual, and project execution issues
• Oversee project documentation, pay applications, change orders, cost reports, closeout documentation, and other project controls
• Support and mentor Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other project team members
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual and quality requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field preferred
• Current project management experience with a commercial general contractor or construction management firm
• Experience managing commercial construction projects through multiple phases of the project lifecycle
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, subcontractor management, procurement, and project controls
• Experience managing project budgets, cost forecasts, change orders, pay applications, and overall project financial performance
• Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change management
• Experience coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field leadership
