Job summary

Paragon Custom Homes is seeking a Residential Project Manager who will oversee all aspects of construction for luxury custom homes. You will manage daily site operations, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure projects are completed within the scope of work, on time, and within budget.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in managing residential projects, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of construction techniques to provide clients with an exceptional homebuilding journey.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years managing residential construction projects, preferably luxury and custom.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural and engineered plans.
  • Exceptional communication skills and customer satisfaction focus.

Project Managers play an integral role for our team and the construction of our homes. You must be passionate about residential construction and work well within a team. You are expected to manage daily site operations, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain pristine job sites. A strong grasp of building science and construction techniques is essential to uphold our uncompromising quality. Beyond the build itself, you serve as a trusted guide for our clients, providing proactive communication and a white-glove experience to deliver a homebuilding journey as luxurious as the final residence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise, and direct all aspects of construction.Ensure projects are completed within the scope of work, on time, and within budget
  • Perform administrative tasks such as reviewing invoices, estimates, change orders, scheduling meetings, scheduling post-closing warrantable items, etc.
  • Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities
  • Ensure that all work is compliant with permitting authority requirements, local and national building codes, and is in keeping with accepted industry standards
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules.Organize workflow, schedule, and materials to ensure consistent progress
  • Collaborate with team members to convey concerns, develop effective solutions, and ensure project success
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Oversee on-site activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, local regulations, and timely completion
  • Work with trade partners to convey expectations and client preferences. Review all drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submittals for accuracy, completeness, cost, and applicability
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication among project stakeholders, including clients, trade partners, and internal teams
  • Provide consistent progress updates and maintain a two-way dialogue with clients.
  • Utilize project management software to streamline workflow, increase efficiency, document progress and enhance communication
  • Perform independent research as needed to support successful project completion, including building science, municipal codes, and regulations
  • Perform any additional tasks associated with the successful completion of assigned projects
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years managing residential construction projects (Luxury and custom construction experience is a plus)
  • Ability to read and understand architectural and engineered plans
  • Perform manual labor and lift 50 pounds
  • In-depth understanding of home building construction operations and general knowledge across all trades
  • Clean driving record and ability to maintain a North Carolina driver’s license
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and focus on customer satisfaction
  • Experience with project management software (Buildertrend, Procore, CoConstruct, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
  • Degree in Construction Management (or similar) preferred
