Job summary

VeeRteq Solutions Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead civil projects from initiation to closeout. You will supervise on-site activity, coordinate with engineers, clients and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with plans, specs and contracts.

The role requires a PE license in AZ, a clean driver’s license, and at least 10 years of civil construction experience. Travel is on-site, with strong emphasis on safety, quality, and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• PE license in AZ or eligible to obtain it.
• BS in Civil Engineering or Construction.
• Minimum 10 years of civil construction experience.
• Ability to read and review complex plans and specs.
• Strong client interaction, contract negotiation, and subcontract management.
• On-site work and supervision responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects ensuring adherence to contracts, quality, and specs.
• Prepare scopes of work, schedules, and fee proposals.
• Review materials/workmanship to meet plans and specs.
• Coordinate field activities: observations, submittals, RFIs, change orders, pay requests.
• Prepare completion letters, releases, and client final certificates.
• Assist with inspections, certifications, QA/QC.
• Monitor QA/QC by outside contractors/labs and resolve issues.
• Assist engineers with data gathering, cost estimates, and design reviews.
• Arrange final inspection and present operating manuals upon acceptance.
• Mentor staff and participate in strategic initiatives.

Salary: $150,000/Year | Phoenix,AZ | Full-Time

We have partnered with a large Civil Engineering company in the Phoenix, AZ area to provide them with a Construction Project Manager.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Construction Project Manager:

• #1. Must a PE license in AZ.
• #2. Must have a clean driver's license
• #3. Must have at least 10yrs of Civil Construction experience
• #4. No more than 3 jobs in the last 10 years

Responsibilities of the Construction Project Manager:

• Manages construction projects, ensuring adherence to contract and subcontract terms, performance, quality assurance, compliance requirements and engineering specifications.
• Prepare and negotiate scopes of work, schedules and fee proposals.
• Examines materials and workmanship to ensure the finished construction product is in accordance with the standards required by the plans and specifications.
• Assists with coordination of all field activities related to project construction management including field observations, reports, submittals, RFI's, change orders, and pay requests.
• Prepares project substantial completion letters, sewer and water release letters, and reports regarding contractor grievances.
• Assists with completing inspections and obtaining certifications.
• Monitor quality assurance and quality control methods testing performed by outside contractors and laboratories.
• Resolves construction conflict problems where possible and recommends any probable or desirable changes requiring a change order.
• Assist Civil Engineers to include project information gathering, cost estimating, preparing statements of work, performing design and construction submittal reviews, site observations, progress meetings, site inspections, and project closeout.
• Arranges for final inspection and establishes a date of acceptance for each project and prepares final certificates for the approval of the client after execution of a punch list. Presents the client with an operating manual and/or "as built" drawing upon final acceptance.
• Experienced in employee supervision, development, and mentoring.
• Participate in the execution of Company strategic initiatives.

Requirements of the Construction Project Manager:

• BS in Civil Engineering or Construction. AZ registered professional engineer required (or the ability to obtain PE in short time.)

• Must have demonstrated ability to plan, organize, supervise, coordinate technical work and satisfy clients.
• Proven track record of successful client interaction including initiating contracts, negotiating contracts, ensuring client satisfaction, and securing referrals.
• Have ability to read, review, and perform technical reviews of plans and specifications for design and construction projects. Monitor projects from design through construction for compliance with contract terms, conditions, codes, policies, and regulations.
• Possess a demonstrated capability to organize and manage multi-disciplined project tasks, be subject matter or functional area expert on each project and manage Architecture/Engineering Construction Projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and various document control software.
• Knowledgeable in the use of CPM scheduling programs and project management software.
• Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing.
• Capacity to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills with limited supervision.
