Job summary

Blue Signal Search's client in Phoenix seeks an accomplished civil construction professional to own complex projects from design coordination through construction completion. A licensed or soon-to-be-licensed Professional Engineer will lead multidisciplinary teams, oversight, and client partnerships, delivering high-impact results in the Phoenix market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction, or a closely related discipline.
  • Arizona Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration, or the ability to obtain Arizona registration within a short timeframe.
  • Approximately 10 to 15 years of progressive civil engineering and/or construction management experience.
  • Ability to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Proven client-facing success, including contract initiation and negotiation, relationship management, client satisfaction, and referral or repeat business development.
  • Strong ability to technically review engineering plans and specifications and oversee projects from design through construction for contractual and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and construction activities while providing technical or functional expertise.
  • Strong communication and organizational capabilities, along with working knowledge of project scheduling, project management, and document control tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead civil construction projects from design coordination through final acceptance, maintaining accountability for quality, schedules, contracts, and client expectations.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, staffing plans, and fee proposals while supporting contract negotiations and project planning.
  • Review civil plans, specifications, submittals, and construction documentation for technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage construction-phase coordination by tracking site conditions, resolving project inquiries, administering modifications, processing billing-related records, and supporting final turnover.
  • Monitor contractor performance, construction quality, materials, workmanship, and third-party testing.
  • Resolve construction challenges and recommend practical solutions that keep projects progressing toward successful completion.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, inspectors, contractors, consultants, and clients while providing leadership and mentoring to project personnel.
  • Strengthen client relationships through responsive project delivery, contract discussions, client satisfaction, and support for repeat and referral business.
