Job description

Fortell is building breakthrough AI-powered hearing technology that redefines how people experience sound and connect with the world. Powered by custom silicon and advances in hearing science, our hearing aids help people hear, and live, with greater clarity and confidence.

We move fast, build with intention, and never lose sight of the people we’re building for. We’re bringing together exceptional minds in technology, science, design, and care–and we’re just getting started. If you want to help shape a new era of hearing technology, we’d love to meet you.

Fortell’s brick and mortar locations are at the heart of our care delivery model. We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to own the end-to-end execution of clinic development — from site evaluation through grand opening — ensuring every location opens on time, on budget, and aligned with Fortell’s brand and clinical requirements. This role requires deep experience in high-end commercial construction, multi-unit rollouts, cross-functional coordination, and aggressive timeline management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Due Diligence & Feasibility: Lead technical and construction diligence for prospective clinic sites nationwide. Assess zoning, permitting pathways, ADA and code compliance, structural and MEP feasibility, landlord work letters, and timeline risk. Partner cross-functionally to develop preliminary budgets and identify constraints before lease execution.
  • Design & Program Management: Oversee architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure plans align with Fortell’s clinical, operational, and brand standards. Review architectural and MEP drawings in detail, coordinating audiology booth requirements, sound isolation, IT/low-voltage, security, and custom millwork. Drive value engineering and cost-leveling without compromising patient experience.
  • Contractor Procurement & Vendor Strategy: Lead competitive RFP/RFQ processes for general contractors, subcontractors, and specialty vendors across markets. Analyze and level bids, negotiate contracts, and establish scalable preferred vendor networks. Maintain strong cost discipline and scope clarity across all projects.
  • Construction Execution & Timeline Management: Own end-to-end project execution from permit approval through turnover. Run weekly construction meetings, track critical paths and long-lead items, travel to job sites across major U.S. markets, and proactively resolve issues to prevent delays. Hold partners accountable to aggressive opening schedules.
  • Budget Ownership & Capital Control: Develop and manage detailed project budgets, monitor cost performance, and tightly control change orders. Ensure every clinic opens on time and on budget, while continuously improving speed-to-open metrics and capital efficiency as we scale nationally.
  • Permitting, Regulatory & Municipal Navigation: Oversee city permitting and inspection processes across jurisdictions. Coordinate with expediters, inspectors, and local agencies to ensure compliance with building codes, healthcare requirements, and zoning regulations. Anticipate approval bottlenecks and drive solutions to protect opening timelines.
You’re the right candidate if you have
  • 5+ years in commercial construction, development, or real estate project management
  • Experience leading multi-unit rollouts in healthcare, retail, or hospitality
  • Experience reviewing architectural & MEP drawings, bidding for contractors, and managing zoning and permitting processes
  • Strong negotiation skills who can push partners and hold timelines
  • Extreme attention to detail
