Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Construction Project Manager to be located in Mill Valley, CA. You will oversee all phases of construction projects, coordinate with agencies, and manage budgets and schedules to meet district standards.

The role requires strong leadership, detailed planning, and close collaboration with design teams and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS plus 4 years of relevant construction experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience with DSA processes preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manages, oversees and coordinates all facets of pre-construction, bid and award, construction and close-out phases of assigned projects.
  • Reviews pre-construction documents and submits comments to Designer.
  • Plans, organizes, and prepares reports to upper management on status and progress.
  • Coordinates with public agencies during pre-construction and construction.
  • Manages the project budget and schedule; monitors budget monthly.
  • Manages daily contractor activities; reviews submittals and responses.
  • Monitors project close-out with DSA and financial close-out.

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Construction Project Manager to be located in Mill Valley, CA.

Job Duties to include:

  • Manages, oversees and coordinates all facets of the pre-construction, bid and award, construction and close-out phase of all assigned projects
  • Reviews pre-construction documents and submits comments to Designer as necessary
  • Plans, organizes, and prepares reports to upper management with respect to the status and/or progress of the projects
  • Coordinates with all pertinent public agencies during pre-construction and construction to comply with all off-site work, coordinates with various District and Project staff
  • Manages both the project budget and schedule to meet the District’s qualitative standards monitors the project budget on a monthly basis and ensures that the budget accurately reflects the project status/progress
  • Manages daily activities of the contractor, reviews contract construction schedules submittals and coordinates responses to the contractors’ inquiries and other related documents
  • Reviews substitution submittals from contractors to ensure specification and/or District requirements are complied with
  • Receives, reviews, and negotiates Contractor Change Order Proposal(s) to achieve a fair & reasonable price in accordance with the General Conditions; reviews and addresses any and all Schedule impacts in accordance with the project specifications in a timely manner
  • Reviews the process and monitors payments for the contractor, architects, engineers and any other pertinent parties
  • Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.
  • Administers provisions of Professional Service Agreements between Architects and the District
  • Coordinates District delivery of related fixtures, furniture and equipment
  • Provides overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
  • Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, maintains close client interface, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Monitors and manages project close-out with respect to project certification with the Division of State Architects (DSA) and project financial close out
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • BA/BS + 4Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Division of State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes
  • Experience with landfill site construction and State and Local Agency coordination
  • Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently; proficiency in managing construction on active educational facilities
  • Experience with Division of State Architect (DSA) Design and Construction processes
  • K-14 Project Experience
  • Lease Lease Back Experience
