Location: Hybrid – Jackson, Alma, Grand Rapids, Saginaw, Lansing (Any of these locations)

Duration: 12+ months contract

Position Overview

Consumers Energy is seeking a Project Manager / Program Manager to support its High Voltage Distribution (HVD) Project Execution team. This role will manage a portfolio of construction and EPC projects across high-voltage lines and substations throughout Michigan.

The position is heavily focused on project and program management within a construction environment, including coordination of scope, schedule, engineering, design, operations, contractors, and multiple stakeholder groups.

While utility and high-voltage distribution experience is preferred, the hiring manager is open to strong construction Project Managers and Program Managers from transferable industries who have successfully managed complex infrastructure or capital projects.

Focus

• The ideal candidate is a construction Project Manager or Program Manager with experience managing a high volume of infrastructure, capital, or EPC projects involving:
• Engineering and design coordination
• Scope and schedule management
• Multiple concurrent projects or work orders
• Contractor/EPC coordination
• Cross-functional stakeholder management
• Utility/high-voltage experience is preferred but not required. Candidates from other construction-intensive or infrastructure-focused industries may be considered if they demonstrate strong, transferable project management experience.
• SAP and Primavera P6 are valuable differentiators. PMP certification is preferred but not required.
