Job summary

Speedwell Construction is seeking a Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, documentation, client relationships, and support field operations on site in Matthews, NC.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, organization and problem-solving skills, with 5+ years of construction experience. Proficiency with construction software and OSHA 10 are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction experience.
• Experience reading construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.

What You’ll Do

• Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Manage budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and project documentation.
• Partner with Superintendents, Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Build strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining quality and safety.
• Participate in project handoff, startup, and closeout meetings.
• Champion Speedwell's commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of construction experience.
• Ability to manage multiple commercial projects simultaneously.
• Experience reading construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with construction software and Microsoft Office; Microsoft Project experience is a plus.
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30, Construction Management degree, and experience with Bluebeam, Viewpoint, or Revit are preferred.
