Job summary

The Encompass Group is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead earthwork, site civil, and infrastructure execution in Prince George’s County, MD. This role requires traditional site civil construction expertise to manage heavy civil operations, grading, site prep, and contractor execution safely, on schedule, and on budget.

• Strong ability to read and interpret civil drawings, blueprints, and specs.
• Proven track record in fixed-price contracts, cost tracking, and subcontractor oversight.

• Oversee all project stages from pre-bid planning, estimating, and procurement through field execution and closeout.
• Direct site civil and earthwork operations, including heavy grading, excavation, and sediment control.
• Manage, negotiate with, and supervise trade contractors, equipment vendors, and field crews.
• Track fixed-price project budgets, cost forecasts, change orders, and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with regulatory inspectors, engineering teams, and internal executive management.

Requirements

• 5+ years of project management experience in site civil construction, heavy civil, earthwork, or major grading projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings, blueprints, and specs.
• Proven track record in fixed-price contract management, cost tracking, and subcontractor oversight.
• Excellent field leadership and communication skills across trade contractors and engineers.
• Experience in stream restoration, wetlands, or living shorelines is a plus, but heavy site civil and excavation experience is the primary requirement.
